It’s it is a watermelon summer ale.
It is odd, but amazing.

Sounds amazing. There was a watermelon ale (I forget the brewery) in a 6 pack at Meijer recently, but $9 for a six pack I said nay nay.

I tried Leinies Watermelon Shandy twice. Good stuff but at $8 for a sixer it’s not worth it.

It MIGHT have been Leinie’s? Hrm... usually we only buy their sampler packs, and I know I didn’t have any watermelon ones in there.
The regular summer shandy in a can is nasty, but OK in a bottle.

Shandy in a can is nasty. I haven’t seen the Watermelon in the samplers yet. Those are usually a better deal ($14 for a 12 pack).
Grapefruit Shandy is torture. Heartburn in a bottle.

Indeed it is. Are you located in PNW?

A watermelon beer sounds tasty to me. I find most fruit beers to be unsatisfying but I’ve had some luck this summer with two varieties I had found during my last trip to the US:

It’s even for sale in Fort Mill, SC.

I need to try one of those watermelon wheats. I had a cucumber Gose a while back and it was disgusting but I do like some of the other fruit beers and shandies...

I bought it a handfull of times when i lived in Beaverton, OR, which is surprising given Oregon’s fierce loyalty toward local brews, but havent been able to find it since moving to Texas.

Nope, central California.
